An incredible woman with a wealth of knowledge to share, Ilona originally intended to pursue a career in law, but her plans were sidetracked after a lifetime of professional athletics and competition resulted in a debilitating injury.

The process of recovering from her own injury and the discovery of how a lifetime of incorrect athletic training contributed to, and likely caused, her injury led Ilona to dive headfirst into the world of anatomy and physiology, the psychology of training, the benefits of nutrition and overall well-being. This propelled her into a career where her focus became helping others to train correctly, and to achieve things they never thought possible.

The law profession was left behind as Ilona studied to become a Certified Personal Trainer through Canadian Fitness Education Services. She then elevated her training to Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Ilona continues to learn, and continually follows the latest research in training and rehabilitation.

Ilona has changed my life. After breast cancer, chemo, and a double mastectomy my body was ravaged and I had never been weaker. When I met Ilona almost 4 years ago, I didn’t have the strength to rake leaves, and couldn’t stand on one leg or raise my arms above my head. We started slowly, and I wasn’t always consistent, but Ilona kept encouraging me and I kept going. At 53 I can bench press, squat, and do pullups but more importantly I can run, jump, lift, climb, push, pull, hike, paddle, ski (and fall down) confidently.– Kelly Hallam, RTNM CPCP
