Understanding Areola Restoration After Surgery or Trauma
Areola and nipple tattooing is a paramedical service intended to restore visual balance following breast surgery, reconstruction, or pigment loss. Changes to the areola may occur after mastectomy, lumpectomy, implant surgery, or other procedures that affect breast or chest tissue.
At Halcyon Cosmetic Studio, this work is approached as restorative and precision-based — not cosmetic. Each treatment is planned with careful consideration of surgical history, scar maturity, tissue quality, and long-term pigment stability.
Areola & Nipple Tattoo Treatment Goals
- Natural-looking restoration of colour and shape
- Improved visual balance following surgery
- Subtle blending of pale or depigmented scar tissue
- Custom colour selection tailored to surrounding skin
- Conservative application for long-term stability
- Results integrate naturally with existing anatomy
Treatment Process
Treatment begins with a private consultation to review surgical history, healing timelines, and tissue characteristics. Design planning includes placement, colour selection, and shading approach, all tailored to individual anatomy.
Tattooing is performed using sterile medical equipment and approved pigments. Healing and outcomes vary depending on tissue type, scarring, and prior procedures. In some cases, treatment may be staged or deferred until tissue is ready to respond predictably.
Halcyon Cosmetic & Skin Studio is located in Port Moody, British Columbia. Clients visit from Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and across Greater Vancouver for advanced paramedical areola and nipple tattooing performed with clinical restraint and individualized care.
